Elisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in treating eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders. She received her master’s degree in social work, with a concentration in Clinical Practice with Children and Families, from Monmouth University. After earning her master’s degree, Elisa worked in various behavioral health settings before specializing in working with individuals and families affected by eating disorders. She started her career as an Intake Coordinator for an adult behavioral health partial care and as a School Social Worker for an at-risk youth program and Child Study Team.
Elisa has an expansive knowledge of the multidisciplinary treatment of eating disorders through her experience treating individuals and families at multiple levels of care. Elisa has worked at Penn Medicine Princeton Center for Eating Disorders in their inpatient and PHP programs, Hidden River Eating Disorder Treatment in their adolescent residential program, and BeginWithin outpatient practice. Elisa strives to build a therapeutic relationship with individuals and families that will facilitate reconnection, compassion, and healing using a direct while warm approach. Through this therapeutic relationship, she assists clients in increasing insight into the underlying issues and function of the eating disorder and other maladaptive behaviors and creating behavioral changes aligned with their values and goals. Elisa uses an eclectic treatment approach, including ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, strengths-based, and mindfulness therapies. Elisa also values family involvement as an integral therapy component to facilitate effective communication and healthy relationship dynamics to help work toward and maintain long-term recovery.
Outside of her professional life, Elisa enjoys the outdoors, singing, and spending quality time with her husband, two daughters, and family.
